STYLING ON A BUDGET

Our top tips & tricks…

UTILISE WHAT YOU CAN

Make use of what the venue can offer – tables, chairs, or any accessories that you may like.

THINK OUTSIDE THE SQUARE

Flowers are beautiful and we all love them, but they can really break a budget. Now we aren’t saying no florals at all - that’s just crazy talk. It’s just about getting more bang for your buck. For instance, try bulking out your floral styling with other accessories. Did you know that for the same cost as a small floral posy centrepiece, you could have five candlesticks?

If your floral budget is on the smaller side, think about channelling this into one big feature, for example, an entrance feature of a bar feature, rather than trying to spread it across the whole space. This way you will be able to create more of a rich and extravagent statement feature and now low and behold… you have a photo op for your guests. Winning!!

CHANGE IT UP

Do something interesting with the floorplan – ask the venue what has been done before and whether they have any ideas for something new. This instantly creates interest when you walk into the space, yet you haven't had to spend a penny. Examples of this could be creating zig-zag shaped tables (this works well if you’re working with trestles).

If you're having a cocktail-style event, create different heights with your furniture & accessories. For Example, if the venue provides the cocktail tables then simply hire some ottomans and coffee tables. This gives a dynamic feel to the space and won't cost you an arm and a leg.

LIGHT IT UP

Lighting! If in doubt, add festoons. They are a total winner for ambience and are such a cost-effective option. Super easy to put up too, which is a bonus. They look great over a dance floor, across the event space, in trees – basically they look good no matter what your scenario.

PICK A PALETTE

Pick a colour scheme early – it helps give direction and having a colour scheme easily brings the entire look together, whether you have budget for a lot or a little styling.
